Description
As a houseparent, math teacher, humanities teacher, chorus director, cross-country coach, and dean of boys, Jack Eyerly epitomized the “whole person” concept throughout his 40 years at Principia. Principia’s true “Renaissance man,” he was revered for his soft-spoken resolve; he never failed to bring out the best in his students and athletes. At the blackboard, on the performance stage, or at the finish line, he was an inspiring presence and a model of how character can be expressed through an individual. Mr. Eyerly’s example shines through every aspect of Principia’s character education.

Character education is at the heart of every aspect of the Principia experience, and it is an especially important component of our athletics programs. The Jack Eyerly Character Education Lab will provide students of all kinds – whether participating in athletics or not – the opportunity to learn from our world class character educators and spread their wings in experiential, participatory ways. No ordinary classroom, the Character Education Lab will include multimedia capabilities and 21st century learning opportunities to ensure Principia students are always prepared.

Why are donations necessary?
Carey Field House could no longer meet the needs of today’s extensive athletics programs. Along with providing up-to-date athletic facilities for male and female student-athletes, Simon Field House will be a resource for all students needing a large, indoor space for activities. We are accepting gifts of any size to help join the wave of support that will move Principia Athletics forward!
